Rosasite with Needle Quartz on Limonite Specimen

This specimen has sparkling botryoidal blue green Rosasite formed with Clear Quartz needles on a limonite (hydrated iron oxide) matrix from Mexico.

Rosasite is a copper-zinc carbonate mineral, forming in oxidised zones of ore deposits where copper-rich fluids interact with surrounding rock. Its characteristic botryoidal structure develops as layered microcrystalline growth while the presence of Quartz adds contrast and the limonite matrix reflects the mineral’s iron-rich environment.
