Large Semi-Polished Agate Geode with Botryoidal Pocket

This large agate geode has a polished surface with an open cavity filled with botryoidal formations and sparkling pepper druzy quartz. The rounded chalcedony growth creates an almost bubble-like texture throughout the centre, contrasting with the fine crystal coating and polished outer edge.

Agate forms when silica-rich solutions gradually fill cavities within volcanic rock, building layer upon layer over long periods of time. In this piece, the process has left behind visible banding, botryoidal chalcedony and a druzy-lined centre within the same formation.
