Druzy Cobaltoan Calcite with Gemmy Malachite Cluster - 147g

This beautiful Cobaltoan Calcite specimen (Aphrodite Stone or Salrose) has sparkling natural vibrant pink crystals from Cobalt ion inclusions. Gemmy green Malachite has also formed throughout the cluster.

Approximate Measurements - 7.2 x 5.6cm x 3.3cm, 147g

Due to the colouring, it is one of the most sought after Calcites by collectors. It is also uncommon to find Malachite, Chrysocolla and Dolomite forming on the surface which adds a contrasting blue-green and black to the crystal

First discovered in Tuscany, Italy, this rarer mineral has since been only found in a few other locations including Argentina, Germany, Mexico, Morocco, Spain, US and the DRC (Congo).
