Once in a long while, I'm able to find a piece of these rare high grade crystal clusters with natural vibrant shimmering Azurite suns on white Kaolinite matrix (highly desired for collectors to have this combination)
Approximate Measurements - 6cm x 4.7cm
Why Azurite Sun is Special
• Unique radial crystal growth & pattern
Flat, circular discs with radiating blades from a central point, creating a natural “sunburst” symmetry rarely seen in azurite
• Locality-specific (Australia)
Primarily from Malbunka Copper Mine, Northern Territory, where precise chemical and environmental conditions allow this formation. This structure does not consistently occur in other azurite deposits, making it location-dependent and uncommon
• Thin, delicate structure
Forms as fine, flat discs often on sandstone or kaolinite matrix, making intact pieces harder to source. Edges are easily damaged, so complete, undisturbed discs are significantly more valuable
• Strong copper-derived colour
Rich deep blue from copper content intensified by even distribution across radial blades
• Collector-grade criteria
Value increases with full circular formation, sharp radial definition, deep colour, and minimal damage
