Large Ancient Orthoceras Fossil, 13cm long

This is a genuine Orthoceras fossil in granite where the specimen has been well preserved.


Approximate Measurements - 13cm x 4.5cm x 1.6cm, 160g 

They are extinct ancestors of Ammonites and squid from over 400 million years ago - formed by glacial movements when rocks became stuck in mud and underwent high pressures which encased the Orthoceras
